Closer

I have decided that the easiest way to make it big in music is to write a song called "Closer". Seriously! All the bands are doing it nowadays. Within the last year I have heard three different songs called "Closer" by three different bands and they are all great!

The first one I heard was by Kings of Leon off their album Only By the Night. This song is a bluesy, slow-burning song that slouches along culminating in an amazing guitar solo. Listen to it on a hot, humid Summer evening in a car with the windows down for best effect. Another band to name an amazing song is Anberlin. The Florida indie-Christian rock band released this song earlier this year on the album Dark is the Way: Light is the Place. Interestingly this song, like the KOL version is a song that is meant to be played in stadiums. Its atmospheric guitars adds to the stellar vocals. Also a plus, this band is Christian! The newest addition to the "Closer" club is by the Scottish band Travis. It is a hauntingly beautiful song. Its hard to put into words how much I like it.
