"I am a terrible person..."
This thought floated through my mind as I studied for my Personality Theories class. The psychologist being studied was Alfred Adler. A psychologist famous for studying humans and their unique personality traits. His frank assessments of the human condition left me depressed. According to Adler neurotic people manipulate people, are lazy, set up emotional walls, and attack other people to hide their own self-conscious feelings. This is how these people act. It how they have always acted. They will not change.
Today I realized why I want to be a psychologist. In class we discussed what secular psychology is and stands for. Christian psychology takes all of the valid, true points of secular psychology and adds Jesus. You CAN change!
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come." 2nd Corinthians 5:17
